Drawing on over 30 years of composites experience, Composite Fibreglass Mouldings Ltd originated from the glass fibre division of Mech-Tool Engineering Ltd – specialists in fire and blast protection.

Situated in Darlington, in the North East of England, CFM Ltd provides composite solutions to a wide range of clients.

Working with glass fibre, carbon fibre, and aramid, the company produces mouldings in polyester, epoxy, vinyl ester and phenolic resins using hand-lay, press moulding, resin injection and vacuum bag technologies.

With experience of supplying blast and fire protection to the offshore industry, CFM Ltd has expanded its capabilities, producing anti-terrorist cladding panels, ballistic paneling and mouldings as well as blast relief systems for onshore applications.

Further diversification has led to the production of side skirts for trailers, motorcycle parts, day-board markers for sea buoys and NoTile - tile effect hygienic wall panels.

The company is dedicated to producing high-quality products with total traceability of raw materials and on-time deliveries.

Ballistic Panels
We produce protective ballistic panels, from UK produced raw materials, in our own factory. The panels are capable of defeating a 9mm hand gun / .357 magnum / .44 magnum / shotgun/ 5.56 rifle and 7.62 rifle NATO ball round, and are tested ballistically against BS 5051 (1988), and are certified by independent testing agencies.

Quality You Can Be Sure Of
CFM Ltd only uses one quality of woven roving in our own ballistic panels. This is the best performing material on the market, as it takes fewer layers to stop the projectile. We do not use cheaper glass fibre in our panels and compensate by adding more layers.

Certain high performance panels produced on our plant perform better than our competitors', when tested at the range, due to the high quality and high standards of our products.

NoTile Hygienic Panels
NoTile™ panels are an innovative alternative to ceramic tiles, as they have the grout line incorporated as an integral part of the panel. However, unlike ceramic tiles, they are quick and easy to fit, with no grout and no mould growth. With the addition of silver technology incorporated into the gel coating of the panels, they are the most hygienic choice for tiling projects.

Antimicrobial Protection
NoTile™ panels utilise silver technology to provide antimicrobial protection, creating cleaner, safer and more hygienic products. This antimicrobial agent is effective against a broad spectrum of micro-organisms, including MRSA, E.coli, Legionella, Salmonella, Campylobacter, Listeria, Aspergillus Niger (black mould) and Ringworm.

The silver inhibits the growth of bacteria on surfaces by up to 99.9% over a 24-hour period - and retains its antimicrobial properties for the lifetime of the NoTile™ panel.

Bespoke Work
Proven producers of blast and ballistic products, CFM Ltd will also manufacture specific non-related products for clients. CFM Ltd will be involved from initial conception through, though the design stages, to the final prototype and full scale production using the knowledge and expertise gained through many years of industry involvement.
