Mirrors can make rooms feel larger and brighter
Different types of mirrors and fixings can be used in various situations. Mirrors can have different thicknesses, the edges can be ground down, polished or bevelled.
Safety backing can be applied to the back of the mirror for security i.e. to prevent the mirror falling if it is broken.
Fire rated glass
The two most common types of fire rated glass that we stock are Georgian wired polished plate(clear glass) and Georgian wired cast (obscure glass).
Both types of glass conform to British Safety Standard Regulations BS6206 and can be cut on site.
Installing modern fittings
Over the past 20+ years windows have changed dramatically and so have the hinges and handles that work the openers. Some old windows, hinges and handles can still be obtained from specialist stockists, but we find that these products are becoming increasingly expensive or are being discontinued.

1st Call Glazing can supply and fit various types of double glazed units fitted in plastic (uPVC), wooden or aluminium frames. Some double glazed units require replacing because they have been broken, others because they have misted up.

There are various types of locks that can be fitted to plastic (uPVC), aluminium or wooden windows and doors. Below are a few types that 1st Call Glazing stock and can be fitted to replace old existing locks that are damaged or are not up to Insurance Approved standards (BS3621).
