We are an NSI Gold approved organisation and issue NSI certification on all of our installation work. This ensures that your system is accepted by your insurers and can obtain Police response through our Alarm Receiving Centre if required.

Our qualifications
Intruder Alarms were originally our core business, we have been installing good quality reliable systems for over 30 years. All of our Intruder Alarm work was historically carried out to BS 4737:1986. Our current work is carried out to the latest European Standard EN50131 and PD6662:2010. We first achieved accreditation in 1996 and have been designated NACOSS NSI GOLD since 2004. We have had a Certificate of Quality Assurance to BS EN ISO 9002:1994 and NACOSS Quality Schedule SSQS 101 since September 2001.

In January 2015 Argus were awarded NSI Fire Gold Status and BAFE approval for the maintenance of Fire Detection Systems, this was upgraded to cover the design, installation and commissioning of Fire Alarms in September 2015. Argus are now proud to be designated NSI Gold for Intruder Alarms, CCTV, Access Control Systems and Fire Alarms. We believe at Argus as per the trend in the industry, in the future only certified fire alarms will receive automatic brigade response.

Fire Alarm Standards and Compliance
Here at Argus Fire and Security Ltd we work strictly in accordance with British standards. The current standard for Fire Alarm systems in the UK is BS-5839:2017 which has recently replaced BS-5839:2013. There are two principal reasons for the installation of a Fire Alarm, life protection and property protection.

Life systems are categorised as (L) type systems except manual systems which are (M) type.

Property systems are categorised (P) type systems designed to protect buildings and contents.
