About 4m Portable Buildings Ltd
4m Portable Buildings began in 1992 with two individuals who had, at the time, already built up many years experience in the portable buildings industry. To date between them they now have well over 75 years of experience to call upon - in fact all of our staff are time served craftsmen.
Over that period the company has seen many changes and developments to the construction of portable buildings but it has never lost sight of the core aim of building high quality buildings to customers' requirements. Although 'off the peg' designs are available, no two projects are the same and this is what has led to 4m focusing on what the clients requires.
Products
Special designs and sizes have become a speciality with the largest unit to date being some 70 ft in length. High quality materials also mean that the buildings can easily have a life of over 40 years. The Corus supplied Confidex® exterior steel, used in all our buildings, is not only maintenance free, due to its coating in Colorcoat HP200 Ultra and is available in a range of 17 colours.
4m's aim is to provide a 'one stop' service able to supply planning consent drawings, building reg. permissions, heating, lighting power points, toilets and kitchens as well as a free design service.
4m's jack leg units are able to adapt to a customers specifications making them highly adaptable. Their design allows them to be stacked, linked (both end to end and side to side). All standard buildings are supplied with insulated walls, floor and roof as well as wipe-clean interior surfaces and heavy-duty vinyl flooring.
Our modular buildings use a post and beam rather than a jack leg concept, allowing spans of varying widths depending upon the internal partitions. They offer the same versatility of all of our buildings thus allowing buildings of indeterminable length to encompass the requirements of most customers. As a result customers can be provided with temporary or semi temporary buildings at half, or less, the cost of traditional buildings.
Whatever your needs 4m are sure we are able to offer a solution.
As we consider ourselves custom builders to the industry making, as standard, many buildings that others would not even quote for. While we feature a number of examples (on our gallery page) showing examples of folding, exhibition and traditional variations, we are also happy to produce a building to suit virtually any need. Our design team thrive on the challenge posed in providing the most sophisticated accommodation requirement.
Hire
For many of our customers hiring a portable building, or buildings, is the preferred option. If clients do decide to hire a building from us then they will enjoy the same quality of building as a purchasing customer. Our minimum length of hire is four weeks. However, we are happy to discuss any length of hire period and will accommodate these if at all possible. Prices depend upon unit specification, length of hire and the number of units required but our prices can start from as little as £10 per month!
To complement this we have a team of highly skilled site erectors who can help to site buildings if required.
To date we have provided buildings used as, kitchens, canteens, washrooms, radiography units, classrooms, clinics, hospital wards, sports pavilions, libraries, polling booths, tourist information booths, gate houses, laundrettes, stores, temporary domestic dwellings, cafes, showers, decontamination units, laboratories, dormitories, mobile x-ray and dental units, crèches, social clubs, banks, roadside service centres, exhibition units, drawing offices, locker rooms, conference rooms, security stores, and C.K.D units.
