I used David Shields from DSP Structural Engineers for a structural engineer report on the property I am buying. He responsed quickly to the enquiry with excellent communication throughout and arranged to meet the Agent there. Post visit, he offered a thorough debrief and the report was provided well within the timescales discussed. The report was complete with photos and recommendations including costings that allowed me to make an informed decision moving forward and suitable for mortgage provider. Would definitely use again and thoroughly recommended.

Made an appointment with a Mr David Shields of DSP Ltd for 25/02/22. He quoted £750 for a survey. He attended, spent half an hour looking round, and departed. Never saw or heard from him again. I did wait 6 months. Found another who charged £450 and produced the report within 7 days.
Luckily I had not paid.

I have used DSP a couple of times over the past few months to sort out a roof problem to enable us to get a mortgage. Not only did he advise the builder on an economic solution to the problem he then helped get the mortgage through. This was carried out quickly and at a very competitive price.

D Shields of DSP Structural Engineers has been paid for a report that he has not produced, after 3 weeks and many unanswered calls and messages. Refund requested but not yet received.

Absolute terrible company and service!!!
Don’t use them if you actually want to get a structural engineers report! David Shields visited my property 3 weeks ago to create a report to remove an internal wall and add a steel beam. Quoted 1 week to receive my report, paid upfront......what a mistake!!
After a week I started chasing my report, no response, no report, I have pretty much chased every day to no avail. He has several locations and business numbers that are manned by polite secretaries who give you no information as he is always out on site probably frustrating other potential customers with his lack lustre, terrible customer service. There are plenty of other structural engineers out there, I just wish I had chosen another one.

We would advise anyone considering using Barron & Partners to reconsider - they advised us we had to pay for work by bank transfer and then only did half of the job. We contacted them by email on numerous occasion with no reply, chasing if our work had been done and rather than telling us it hadnt they chose to ignore us. We have been calling them almost daily to chase for a refund and everyday this is going to happen and it never does. Barron and Partners will happily take your money but not do the work, or refund you when they have not acted appropriately!
