About DeSem Ltd
De/S/eM Lifts Ltd. have been the preferred supplier of new lifts to the Self Storage sector for several years now, due to their competitiveness and more so, their un-relenting and well-renowned reliability.
During this time, De/S/eM have produced over 90 Lift-master lifts and 50 Liftmaster goods-only ''pitless'' lifting machines. The Liftmaster goods passenger lifts are mainly 2,000 Kgs goods-passenger hydraulic units, and nearly all the lifts have been supplied in the uniquely designed structural steel lift shafts (negating the need for expensive brick or concrete lift shafts). This allows a minimum installation period averaging 4 weeks (based on a 4 floor lift).
The Liftmaster goods-only lifts are mainly 1,500 kgs capacity and are supplied in their own enclosed lift shaft. These lifts are again designed for the quickest installation period, normally 5 working days. The ''pitless'' ability allows the lifts to be installed where the construction of a lift pit is prohibited by economic or building design issues.
All the units supplied are generally a bespoke design for individual self storage companies, with a lift car manufactured to meet the customer's individual requirements, including their corporate image embedded in the lift car’s finishes.
One particular feature included is a ''night & day'' switch which allows site staff to put the De/S/eM Lift into ''slumber'' mode during un-manned site night hours, when 24 hour access is required. This unique feature allows our clients customers to utilise the systems ability to travel down only, so allowing egress from the building from a specific floor but preventing further access, a very simple security feature.
All De/S/eM lifts are manufactured in our Stoke on Trent works, with only the automatic large opening heavy duty doors being imported, making them a truly British engineered product. De/S/eM also maintain a readily available stock of spares should their need ever arise.
De/S/eM also provide high quality passenger lifts for all environments from residential / nursing homes, hospitals, office blocks through to panoramic / scenic lifts for prestige applications, all available to meet the Disabled Discrimination Acts requirements, these lifts can be hydraulic, electric or ''machine room-less''.
De/S/eM Lifts formed in February 2004 bringing together a team with vaste experience in specialist lift design under the supervision of the Managing Director David Martin, with Mike Carp heading the sales team.
De/S/eM also have a service division providing a reliable service with a 24 hour call out facility (manned by our own staff), along side this they also have a reputation for high quality refurbishments to all types & makes of lifts.
On initial trading the company obtained ISO 9001:2000 & more importantly, ''Notified Body'' Approval allowing the freedom to design bespoke lifts of all types and their installations to be C E Marked in accordance with the European Lifts Directive EN 81.
Later in that 1st trading year De/S/eM were nominated for and won the Staffordshire Evening Sentinel sponsored ''Start up Enterprise of the year'' award.
In 2004 De/S/eM joined the UK Self Storage Association as supplier members.
In 2006 De/S/eM joined the national trade association LEIA (Lift & Escalator Industry Association) & remain active members.
