D Robson is a Handrailer which is a term for a person who is skilled in the making of wreathed handrailing.  Able to make from scratch face moulds to produce handrailing or coring, which is a term for a handrail to follow a band of metal balustrading, on top sits the cored wooden handrail.

The most difficult part to master in stair building is the handrailing.

Carpentry becomes secondary only to the solution of complex solid geometry, far more care and knowledge are required in planning & setting them out; more skilful workmanship in execution, than in any other joinery or carpentry work.

Having over 24 years’ experience in handrailing and stairbuilding, and serving a four year apprenticeship with one of the last great handrailers, F J Lewis, he has built up a passion for the craft of handrailing and stairbuilding and uses the same enthusiasm in all aspects of joinery.
