Bets Spray Renders Ltd

Buyer’s Remorse! August 2023, I had a very disappointing experience with Bets’ Spray Renders Ltd, Waltham Abbey and the owner, Colin Philips after paying over £13,000 to have my house rendered in silicone!

Firstly, the company arranged their scaffolders to erect the scaffolding around my home. However, this incompetent company installed it so close to the garage wall, the renders were unable to complete the silicone render to the garage. Then, in-order for the scaffolders to get to the garage, my side garden fence panels had to be removed so the scaffolders could gain access. Bets Spray Render informed me the fence would be reinstalled on completion – the fence panels and gate post were just dumped by Bet’s in my neighbour’s garden. The renders also had to access to my roof and on doing this they broke a tile. I spotted this, and the company promised a new tile would be supplied and fitted by Bets at the end of the job – even after having to buy the roof tile, they did not install it. Lastly, I had brand new aluminium patio doors and windows fitted.

I mentioned to the company at the start of the project that these were newly installed and fitted windows and doors as they would require the use of low tack tape when masking the windows and doors. This was not the case as the renders used a standard tape and when removed peeled the anthracite grey paint from the sills. An estimate of over £400 was highlighted to Bet’s and suggested the use of a professional sprayer to return the doors and windows to their original condition. Despite bringing these issues to the companys attention, the response was slow and lacked urgency. I was not promised a timely resolution, and the overall customer service left much to be desired. The lack of attention to detail and the poor quality of the work were frustrating, especially considering the cost involved.

It is beyond me how a company like this can still be in business. They promised to return in September 2023, after dumping all their materials to complete my garage in the garage, and not complete and address all the actions, complete the silicone of the garage, the broken roof tile, reinstall my fence, pay for the refurbishment of my windowsills and patio sills. There has been no communication from this company or the director since September 2023.

However, after giving-up on this company, in July 2024 a local builder recommended a professional local rendering company – Aesthetic Plastering and Renders in Biggleswade, Bedfordshire. This company restored my faith in the construction industry that there are professional companies who take pride in their work and have their customers best interest at heart.

Aesthetic completed all the issues including the unfinished rendering of my garage which was left by Bets’ Spray Renders within three days. I can not thank them enough for the professional job and I would highly recommend choosing this company for a stress-free life.

I expected a high standard of workmanship from a company that specialises in rendering, but unfortunately, that was not what I received. I would not recommend Bets Spray Renders Ltd based on my experience. I sincerely hope they improve their standards for future customer and their communication.
