Our Services
  • Painting Specialist
All the preparation methods used by Tech Coatings are to approved standards, and all Painting Systems are applied in accordance with manufacturers instructions. We specialise in onsite coatings application, such as Ship Painting, Railway Stations, Bridge Structures and Office Exteriors careful attention is given to the coatings applications in environmentally sensitive areas and we can achieve the required finish. Thickness testing is a standard procedure, with environmental checks at every stage to ensure conditions are acceptable for coatings application.

  • Abrasive Blasting
Sand Blasting, Shot Blasting, Glass Blasting are just some of the methods we employ to remove old paint and coatings, debris, oil, grime, rust and other contaminates from all types of surfaces including steel, cast and wrought iron, concrete, timber, stone and plastic. We find these processes can be the most effective way of de-scaling, de-burring and cleaning both awkward interior and external surfaces.

Abrasive Blasting, Sand Blasting, Shot Blasting, Glass Blasting is conducted by projecting grit, sand, glass or garnet using compressed air onto a surface leaving the surface clean, dry and profiled ready to apply new coatings. We can also offer slurry blasting as an alternative - this combines Ultra High Water Blasting with abrasive blasting, this can produce a more consistent finish and is less aggressive on softer surfaces.

  • Sand Blasting
Sand blasting is where sand is used as an abrasive to remove old coatings. This process will leave a smooth or rough surface depending on the finish required. It is a gentler form of blasting and can be used on softer materials such as wood, fibreglass, brick and stone.

We can use Sand Blasting on Domestic and Commercial Properties - Sand Blasting can be used to restore brickwork, wooden beams and flooring by removing all imperfections, old plaster, paint and varnish restoring the surface back to its original state this process is effective when restoring old buildings.

  • High Pressure Water Jetting
High Pressure Jetting can be described as Hydrocleaning it is run at under 5,000 psi and by focusing the pressurised water system the force generated can remove contaminates, pollution, membranes and flaky paint in a fast, efficient and safe way.

High Pressure Water Jetting is not only economical but has many environmental advantages being cleaner and leaves less waste than Sand, Grit or Bead Blasting. It can be used on all surfaces including wood, concrete, plastics, brick and metal - hence this process is becoming more widely used in most industries. It is the safer option for use in highly flammable industries such as fuel tanks, oil refineries and gas storage sites.

We use High Pressure Water Jetting when a Ship, Boat or ferry comes into dry dock to remove any contaminates including barnacles, sea weed, silt and loose paint to ascertain any remedial work needed to be done.

We pride ourselves in Health and Safety and our staff have all been trained with the High Pressure Water Jetting Association (HPWJA) as safety and the correct use of equipment is paramount.

  • Ultra High Pressure Water Blasting
Ultra High Pressure Water Blasting (UHP) runs up to 40,000 psi and is the most effective and environmentally friendly method of removing all old paint systems and contaminates. It uses just water no abrasive materials or chemicals making it safer and more cost effective. It can be used on external or internal areas leaving the steel surface clean and profiled ready for fresh coatings.

Tech Coatings has its own machines which makes us more competitive and reliable. Our Ultra High Pressure machines and UHP equipment is easily transportable, we can mobilise to any site in the UK providing an on-site service.
