There is an increasing need for contaminated land surveys related to planning permission, with site investigations required for even the simplest project. We have also noticed that clients have been recommended to carry out soil sampling by some competitors when this is not necessary or there is no desktop study in place. Desktop Study
We provide a quick, cost effective desktop study services to meet planning conditions and prior to property and land purchase, for due diligence purposes.

A desktop study/phase 1 investigation* is always required when dealing with a contaminated land planning condition. It can save money by identifying potential contamination issues early on and identifying appropriate management methods.

What is a contaminated land site investigation? Why is it needed? What is involved?

These are all questions we have been asked many times. We have the expertise to make the process as painless as possible and to advise you every step of the way.

A site investigation should be viewed as a process. It is essential that any site investigation is carried out in the correct manner and should follow the appropriate UK Guidelines such as CLR11 in the case of contaminated land. Reports that do not follow this guidance will not be accepted by the regulators.
