Home Automation
Smarthome technology is becoming more and more popular with many off-the-shelf devices available. These devices have their place in the market, but to really take advantage of smarthome technology, it is always better to go with a professionally installed system.

A good smarthome may be complex under the surface, but should be simple to use for the home owner. It’s not just about being able to control your lights or heating from your phone; with a properly installed smart home, many of the home systems are automated. Lighting should come on at the correct level for the time of day/amount of daylight. Different areas of the home should be heated to different levels, and this temperature should be maintained regardless of outside temperature. Blinds and shades should be integrated to the heating system, and should automatically adjust to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature.

Home Electrics
At Surrey Smarthome all our electrical work is inspected and tested to ensure that it fully conforms to the Requirements For Electrical Installations; BS 7671:2008. At the end of the work, clients are provided with an Electrical Installation Certificate, and, if necessary, we notify Building Control through NICEIC, who then issue a Building Control Certificate.

We also offer periodic inspections for existing electrical installations. This would mainly be used for rented properties and business premises, but can also be a great way to check the safety of your own home wiring. On completion of the inspection, clients are issued an Electrical Installation Condition Report, which would contain any necessary actions/recommendations to improve the safety of the wiring. These reports are normally valid for 5 years or until the next change of tenancy (if in rented property).

Electric Car Charging points
The electric car revolution has started, and with it many car manufacturers and governments have made commitments to move away from the combustion engine.

The UK government is currently offering grants of 75% (up to £500) towards the cost of car charge points. If you are planning on buying an electric car, then take advantage of this, future proof your house and benefit from safer and faster car charging.
