Haze Environmental Ltd are a team of independent air quality and odour consultants. We specialise in air quality assessments, air quality monitoring, dust management and odour assessments for planning applications in relation to residential, mixed-use and industrial developments within Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and beyond (UK-wide).

AIR QUALITY ASSESSMENTS FOR PLANNING
An air quality assessment is a study or evaluation of the air quality in a specific location. It typically involves measuring the concentrations of various pollutants in the air and comparing them to established standards or guidelines.
The goal of an air quality assessment is to determine if the air quality in a particular area is safe for people to breathe, and if not, to identify the sources of pollution and recommend ways to improve air quality.
ODOUR ASSESSMENTS
Odour can be an important issue for certain developments such as waste-handling and treatment developments, wastewater treatment works (WWTWs), industrial processes and rural/agricultural activities. Our team of experts are able to provide support and assess whether a proposed development will be a suitable use of the land.
Development must be guided to the most appropriate locations, particularly where odour is likely to be an issue or nuisance, and our experts at Haze Environmental are here to help. Potential significant sources of odour should be separated from odour-sensitive users of the surrounding land with control and mitigation measures where required. We offer a range of odour services and methods of assessment to help both developers and local resident groups.
INDOOR AIR QUALITY
Breathing good quality indoor air is important for our health and wellbeing, in particular for those more sensitive groups of people such as children. Here at Haze Environmental, our air quality and odour specialists are able to provide support for a range of indoor air quality services. Our experts can provide indoor monitoring surveys and indoor air quality assessments to help both identify and quantify potential causes of indoor air pollution and nuisance.
AIR QUALITY MONITORING
Haze Environmental offer a wide range of air quality monitoring services. We design and implement robust ambient and indoor air quality monitoring surveys. We monitor a full suite of pollutants including Nitrogen Dioxide, Particulate Matter (PM10 and PM2.5), Black Carbon, Dust, Carbon Dioxide and VOCs.
AIR QUALITY MODELLING
Atmospheric dispersion modelling is the mathematical simulation of how air pollutants disperse in ambient air. Haze Environmental have extensive experience using the suite of ADMS software (Roads and 5), Breeze Roads and AERMOD. Our environmental consultant has experience and expertise using various air quality modelling tools and software including DMRB and GIS Software.
WHAT IS DUST MANAGEMENT?
Construction phases of a development or scheme can have a substantial, temporary impact on local air quality which often require appropriate dust mitigation and management. Haze Environmental can provide robust construction dust risk assessments and monitoring as part of our dust management service.
PERMIT APPLICATIONS
Haze Environmental have experience assessing a variety of impacts and we are able to support your Environment Agency permit applications at all stages. We are able to provide both screening and bespoke air quality assessments for human-health related emissions, impacts on sensitive ecological habitats, greenhouse gas emissions and dust and odour impacts.
