Enterprise Bids For Water Contract

Construction News Image
Enterprise, the infrastructure maintenance support services company, has announced that it has been appointed preferred bidder for a contract to maintain and renew clean and waste water assets on behalf of United Utilities Water plc ("UU" or "United Utilities").

The programme is expected to have revenue of around £400m in the period 2010 – 2020 based on the five year contract and the potential further five year extension.

The scope of works comprises a wide range of maintenance activities across the entire North West of England region served by UU. The programme will support UU’s provision of clean and waste water services to the seven million people in the region and will deliver further improvements in cost and efficiency.

The work programme commences formally in April 2010, with the project mobilisation starting later this year. This early start to the programme will enable Enterprise and UU to achieve a smooth transition to the new service regime. Both companies have significant experience of operating in partnership to deliver high quality services at the least cost to the consumer and have a long history of working together.

Neil Kirkby, Group Managing Director of Enterprise, said: "We are delighted that United Utilities has appointed Enterprise as preferred bidder on this contract. We look forward to applying our expertise in service delivery developed both in the utility and public sector markets to the particular circumstances faced by United Utilities."
