Carillion Civil Engineering And Sustainability Expert Awarded CBE By HRH Prince Charles

Support services and construction company Carillion is celebrating after its Chief Engineer and sustainability expert was recently officially awarded a CBE by Prince Charles.

Mr Quentin Leiper, who lives in Bridgnorth and has worked for Wolverhampton based Carillion for more than 18 years was awarded the honour for services to the sustainability agenda and civil engineering.

Mr Leiper, who is responsible for pioneering and leading Carillion's sustainability programme, has over 30 years experience in both operational management and technical roles in the construction industry graduated in civil engineering in 1975 from Glasgow University, has an MSc in Geotechnical Engineering, and is a chartered civil engineer and a chartered environmentalist.

Since 2000, he has also been responsible for environmental issues and he initiated and led Carillion's coveted sustainability strategy and corporate responsibility programme.

And he has been a judge for the Science, Engineering and Technology Student of the Year Award since the award's inception in 1997.

Mr Leiper said: "It was a fabulous day and a great honour to be presented with the CBE by Prince Charles who is a great supporter and advocate for the sustainability agenda."
