New CEO For Parsons Brinckerhoff

There's to be a new Chief Executive Officer at the leading construction business, Parsons Brinckerhoff Inc.

Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group operating in construction services, professional services, support services and infrastructure investments, has announced that George Pierson, currently the President and Chief Operating Officer of Parsons Brinckerhoff's Americas operations, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Parsons Brinckerhoff Inc.

Keith Hawksworth, currently Chief Executive Officer, is to become Chairman, succeeding Jim Lammie, who is retiring.

Both appointments are effective from 1st January 2010.

Ian Tyler, Chief Executive, Balfour Beatty, said: "I look forward to working with George as he leads the Parsons Brinckerhoff team within the Balfour Beatty Group to deliver the exciting opportunities which the combination of the two businesses creates.

"I would also like to thank Keith Hawksworth and Jim Lammie who have led Parsons Brinckerhoff with skill and determination over the past two years of strategic change. I am very grateful for their leadership during the acquisition process and for their support in the period since.

"I offer Jim my best wishes in his retirement and I look forward to working with Keith in his new role on issues relating to the long-term development of our professional services business."
