The blueprint for the new €30m Ferencváros FC (also known as 'Fradi') stadium in Budapest, Hungary has been unveiled.
Capita Symonds is providing multidisciplinary services on the scheme on behalf of leading property development, investment and leisure company Scarborough Group International (SGI).
Due to be completed in 2012 the new 22,000 seater stadium replaces the club's former home - the Stadion Albert Florian – which is on the same site.
The stadium is integrated in a wider €200m - €300m commercial development which includes 70,000 sq m office space, a 200-250 bed hotel, over 2000 car parking spaces, a travel interchange, leisure facilities and 46,000 sq m of retail/commercial space.
Capita Symonds will provide project management, cost management and design services including structures, acoustics, health and safety, M&E and transport planning. Architecture services are being provided by local architect S.A.M.O.
The deal is part of Capita Symonds' partnership agreement with Scarborough Group International (SGI) to provide multidisciplinary professional consultancy services across the Group's global property assets.
Mark Norris, Executive Director, Capita Symonds said: "The development is highly significant both for Hungarian football and the city of Budapest.
"We are of course delighted to be involved with Ferencvaros both as sponsor and as development consultant with responsibility for the design and delivery of the stadium and associated commercial space.
"Fradi has a long and distinguished footballing history and it will be fantastic to see the new facility playing its part in the future fortunes of the club," he said.
