Borri UK Introduce Scrappage Scheme To Promote New Eco-UPS Range

Construction News Image
Borri UK are worldwide distributors of uninterruptible power solutions and have introduced a scrappage scheme to promote their new Eco-UPS range.

The scrappage scheme will allow customers to receive money off any uninterruptible power supply within their Eco-UPS range. The scrappage scheme aims to dramatically reduce your energy bills and carbon footprint due to lower CO² emissions and a higher UPS efficiency.

The scrappage scheme is based on six and twelve pulse machines which are no longer as efficient as uninterruptible power supplies designed with IGBT technology. In exchange for six or twelve Pulse UPS customers will receive at least £1000 off the Eco-UPS list price.

The main reason behind the scrappage scheme is that IGBT technology is much more advanced in comparison to six and twelve pulse technology. The reason for this is that six and twelve pulse machines don't utilize the full cycle of the incoming Sinewave. IGBT technology on the other hand uses the entire Sinewave which in turn increases the efficiency of the Eco-UPS across a variation of loads. Due to the increased efficiency there are many potential savings.

As an example of the potential savings a 100kVA Eco-UPS over a three year term can save the user approximately £21,000 in operating costs, this is with just a 6% efficiency advantage. Most Eco-UPS offer an advantage of >10%, which will further increase savings. While the monetary savings are vast so are the CO² savings. Again using a 100kVA model as an example, an Eco-UPS saves around 50,000kg in terms of contribution to CO² emissions. To put that into context the Borri UPS contributes around 50% less to CO² emissions. In terms of efficiency, the UPS can reach 95% AC/AC and 98% when in Eco Mode, making the UPS hugely efficient and environmentally friendly. It also comes with the longest warranty in the UPS industry of 3 years, which is of huge benefit to lowering operating costs.

Borri UK are currently the only company to offer a scrappage scheme on dated uninterruptible power supplies. This offer is directly linked to their eco credentials, which are benchmarking for much of the UPS industry. The scrappage scheme will initially run until August 2010, giving any interested party plenty of time to handle any budgetary restraints.
