Kingfisher Launches Harness Inspection Clinic

Construction News Image
Kingfisher Access has announced the introduction of its Harness and Lanyard Inspection Clinic.

The new service is designed to offer customers a straightforward and cost-effective way of meeting the personal fall protection equipment inspection requirements laid down in BS8437 2005:

"Formal inspection procedures should be put in place by employers to ensure that personal fall protection equipment is given a detailed inspection (thorough examination) by a competent person before first use and at intervals not exceeding six months (or three months where the equipment is used in arduous conditions), and after circumstances liable to jeopardize safety have occurred," a spokesperson said.

Primarily designed as a drop-in service available through Kingfishers' Hornchurch Training Centre, the cost of the inspection is just £10.00 + VAT per item (harness, lanyard etc), which includes all the necessary inspection documentation and a tag giving users a clear visible indication of when their equipment is due for re-inspection, helping them to keep it 'in date'.

The service is also available as an on-site inspection service where we offer flexible pricing based on location and the quantity of equipment to be inspected.
