Scaffold Standard Deadline Approaching

From 1 January 2011 the HSE will no longer accept the British Standard, BS5973:1993, as the standard for the design of tube & fitting scaffolds, which has been replaced by the British/European standard, BS EN12811-1:2003.

The reason for the change in the HSE's opinion on the standard to be used is that they now accept that the original British Standard conflicts with the European Standard, particularly with regards to the method of design.
