Alastair Campbell, former director of Communications and Strategy for Tony Blair, will be presenting a keynote session at the Chartered Institute of Housing (CIH) Eastern conference on 10th November.
In his current role as a broadcaster and political aide, Alastair will discuss the challenges of his role as director of Communications and Strategy for the Labour party, including how to manage bad publicity.
The three-day conference, themed 'The Sky's the Limit' will focus on striving for excellence in the housing sector. Hosted by CIH, the conference is the region's premier annual housing event. The event will allow delegates to debate some of the key issues faced by housing professionals and tenants in the region as a result of the new coalition government, the recent Spending Review and the ever-changing regulatory environment.
Other key speakers include Alistair McIntosh, CEO of Housing Quality Network, Oliver Kamm, Columnist for The Times, Dr Graeme Codrington, expert on the new world of work and multi-generational workplaces, and Richard Capie, Director of Policy and Practice at CIH.
Colin Wiles, Chair of the CIH Eastern Region, said: "The conference provides an excellent opportunity to debate the impact of recent regulatory changes in the housing sector and how these will affect our region in particular. Delegates will have the unique opportunity to learn from Alastair Campbell’s first-hand experience of building the reputation of an organisation in the face of bad publicity. We will also be hosting a number of practical masterclasses on hot topics, such as coping with financial cuts, developing eco-friendly homes, tackling anti-social behaviour, and dealing with Housing Benefit reforms."
