Multi-Million Pound Regeneration Projects Unveiled

Construction News Image
Kier Partnership Homes has delivered regeneration projects worth £15 million for client Aspire Housing and its partners Stoke-on-Trent City Council and the Homes & Community Agency (HCA), boosting two North Staffordshire neighbourhoods and bringing new homes, shops and community facilities to North Staffordshire.

Residents and councillors celebrated the £7.1m redevelopment of Ingestre Square in Blurton with an opening ceremony at the beginning of the month, marking the official launch of the following facilities:
  • 41 mixed-tenure affordable homes, including 22 two-bedroom apartments, four three-bedroom houses and two four-bedroom houses, all for social rent; and seven three-bedroom houses and six four-bedroom houses for shared ownership
  • A community hub that will deliver social and learning activities for local people and offer corporate space for hire
  • Six new retail units
  • Car parking, landscaping, secure yards and signage.
The new community hub will be run by a management committee responsible for governance, finance, legal and administrative issues regarding the facility, and will give local people the chance to develop their skills and promote the venue to businesses.

Chairman of the Blurton Farm Residents Association, Derek Ecclestone, said: "It's an exciting time for the people of Blurton and the area looks tremendous. Not only does this bring business premises but it also boosts the social side, which we've lacked in Blurton for some time."

At the £7.6 million scheme in Lymebrook Way, Kier Partnership Homes has built a mix of 80 stylish homes, from four-bedroom family houses to two-bedroom bungalows. There are a range of ownership options, and 15 homes have already been sold, subject to contract, under shared ownership arrangements. A further 33 homes have already been let or provisionally let to people on the Newcastle-under-Lyme housing waiting list.
