Lovell recently teamed up with housing association Three Oaks Homes to revamp sheltered accomodation Cork House, in Glen Parva.
Lovell held a community event with staff and residents to celebrate the revamp, which saw all residents at Cork House offered brand new kitchens and bathrooms.
Six out of eight residents choose to have their properties refurbished alongside the kitchen and bathroom communal areas.
As a goodwill gesture, AKW Medicare, the leading provider of elderly and disabled shower, kitchen and daily living products, supplied the bathroom and kitchen fittings for the communal areas free of charge.
Matt Wilkinson, site manager at Lovell, said: "We have built up a great relationship with AKW Medicare and Three Oaks Homes over the past few years. AKW Medicare donated £3,500 worth of fittings which is extremely generous and testament to our relationship. We pride ourselves on building communities and it is great to be able to give something back to the residents of Cork House.
"Although the residents at Cork House require a certain level of support, they do enjoy independent living. This refurbishment thas made a considerable difference to their quality of life. It has created a sense of community spirit at Cork House as people look forward to spending time together in the new and improved communal areas."
Sue Pawley, a resident at Cork House praised the team: "I can't speak highly enough of the workmen. They were friendly, didn't waste any time and got on with their work. I am more than happy with the kitchen. I love it."
Richard Rae, head of maintenance at Three Oaks Homes, said: "The revamp at Cork House means a lot to our residents. The property now has fresh modern feel and the refurbishments make the area a much more comfortable place to live and socialise. It is a pleasure to give something back to the community at Cork House, especially as it will significantly improve their quality of life."
Jay Barrington, area sales manager at AKW Medicare, added: "We have been working with Lovell for several years now and have built up a great relationship with the company across a number of projects. We pride ourselves on being a partner on projects such as this and in the spirit of giving back to the community, the decision was made to provide the kitchen and bathroom fittings for communal areas free of charge."
