Speedy Invests £4.5m In Working At Height Products

Speedy, one of the UK's leading providers of equipment rental and support services, has this week announced that it has invested over £4.5 million in working at height products.

The company has purchased £2 million worth of Sky Jack equipment, including two new products, and has spent £1 million on expanding the existing range of Hybrid aerial lifts. There has also been £1.5 million spent on BoSS Alloy Towers and Podiums.

The Sky Jack equipment includes the12ft Sky Jack Vertical Mast Lift and the Sky Jack 19ft Electric Scissor Lift, which is the tallest self propelled lift in Speedy’s core fleet with a working height of 7.8m. The units will be stocked in specialist locations throughout Speedy’s national depot network.

Both products were designed to allow operators to work more safely and effectively at height, offering a compact working footprint and are easily manoeuvred, making them ideal for use on both internal and external sites. Both units can be driven at full height and have a two person capacity as well as a range of safety features including overload sensing systems and a tilt alarm with drive and lift cut out.

Speedy also provides advice to its customers on how to work safely at height as well as offering an extensive range of training courses, including IPAF and PASMA accredited courses.

Andy Connor, Supply Chain Director at Speedy, said: "Working at height is one of the most dangerous parts of a contractor's job.

"Contractors need equipment which can not only ensure they can get the job done safely, but which is also durable, reliable and allows them to work effectively in a variety of environments.

"These new Sky Jack products will complement our existing fleet, and when used correctly will greatly reduce the risk of falls when working at height."
