Recent figures revealed by Kitagawa Europe show that their GT Series rotary table continues to grow in popularity two years after it was released.
The GT Series was introduced to the rotary table market in 2009, with the aim of eventually replacing the now legendary Kitagawa MR Series - which many competitors are still trying to match in terms of performance.
Whilst the MR Series remains a popular choice, figures show that sales of the GT Series are growing at 30% on year and will soon overtake sales of its predecessor. The reason behind the increase in sales is thanks to the improved level of performance offered by the GT Series.
In comparison to a rotary table with comparable faceplate diameter from the MR Series, the GT200, GT250 and GT320 offer more than twice the level of clamping force. This is achieved through increased piston area and a newly developed pneumatic clamping mechanism.
Whilst other companies can produce a rotary table that matches Kitagawa's GT Series in terms of clamping force; they simply can’t compete in terms of the overall performance. The rigid body design and improved brake piston of the GT Series ensures that precision machining is achieved, without sacrificing speed. Considering the improved levels of performance and favourable sales figures it is easy to see why Kitagawa Europe believe that the GT Series will be their best selling rotary table in the forthcoming years.
