Work based learning funding, which can help construction businesses maximise their full potential, is still available to companies based in England through the National Construction College (NCC), the training division of CITB-ConstructionSkills.
A limited number of funded places are still on offer to workers, as long as they are signed up to the programme by 31 March.
The training places are available through the government funded Work Place Learning (WPL) programme, which helps upskill workers by enabling them to train and qualify for an NVQ, helping them to prove their vocational competency and ability which means they can apply for their competency cards.
Having a fully carded workforce in place, particularly in the current climate, means that businesses will be in the best position to win contracts and grow in the future. The Work Based Learning programme through the NCC is open to construction workers aged 19 years and over that live and work in England.
Once workers have competed the training required, the NCC will assess each employee’s level of competence through either visiting them on site via an On Site Assessment service or assessing them at a National Construction College centre to carry out an Experienced Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA).
Andy Walder, Director of the National Construction College (NCC) said: "We are committed to delivering the right skills for economic growth locally and nationally, and through this funding are helping construction businesses upskill their workforce, putting them in the best position possible to secure new business opportunities, and grow in the future. This funded training is available for a limited time only – so I would encourage anyone interested in undertaking this training to get in touch with us now to avoid disappointment."
With a long standing reputation and experienced staff, the National Construction College is in a strong position to deliver NVQs across a range of different disciplines including Access and Rigging, Construction Operations, Plant Maintenance, and Roofing Occupations.
