Award-winning niche London developer United House is going for gold in London’s Olympic year with its latest development, The Fold in Sidcup, Kent.
The £20 million landmark regeneration scheme has a wave-shaped facade featuring curved copper cladding, giving the building a distinctive gold shimmer.
Cutting edge architects Studio Egret West designed the 6,500 sq m mixed-use development which comprises 98 residential apartments, as well as restaurant, office and retail space within a striking and contemporary eight-storey building. A total of 69 stylish studio, one and two bedroom apartments are available for private sale, with prices starting from just £148,000 for a studio.
Some of the apartments have their own balconies and terraces and all have access to a communal landscaped rooftop terrace with stunning views towards London, taking in the city, the Shard and the London Eye. There will also be 48 car parking spaces available, some designed with a stacking lift system, a first for United House. The development includes 29 affordable homes, including eight shared ownership properties, managed by Gallions Housing Association.
The Fold is ideally located for commuters as it is situated directly opposite Sidcup railway station, with direct links to Charing Cross, London Bridge and Cannon Street in less than 30 minutes. The scheme is also located close to the A20 with links into the heart of the city, the M25 and out into the Kent countryside.
Antony Crovella, Sales and Marketing Director at United House Developments, said: "With its striking facade and unusual architecture, The Fold is completely transforming Sidcup town centre. The apartments are ideal for commuters with journey times into Central London taking just 30 minutes and they also represent incredibly good value – with prices starting from under £150,000. We have already had a huge amount of interest from first time buyers and young professionals who want to be a part of this exciting new development."
