Kier Secures Planning To Develop Business Park Site

Kier Property has secured a major planning consent to develop the first part of Test Valley Borough Council’s 168-acre Walworth Business Park site in Andover, which will act as a major catalyst to the wider redevelopment of the site.

The project, worth £1.75 million, will see the refurbishment of two warehouse units, totalling 37,645sq ft.

Unit A, which is 19,265sq ft, is under offer to a local occupier. Unit B is 18,380sq ft and will be speculatively developed; it is available to let or for sale via a 150-year lease. Both buildings, located on a vacant plot previously occupied by Ducal, will have a secure yard and their own access points.

The Walworth site further benefits from the potential to expand from its current 168 acres onto an additional 27 acres. This will lead to increased local employment opportunities and attract new companies into the town.

Kier development manager, George Shepherd, said: "This planning consent marks the first step in an exciting 15-year partnership with Test Valley Borough Council. The project will provide a pipeline of development to fulfil the future occupational requirements of both existing and new occupiers at the Walworth Business Park."
