Children at Llanhari Primary School swapped the classroom for a construction site during an action-packed visit organised by local housing developer Lovell.
The Llanhari pupils, who have been working on a project exploring the building process, asked Lovell if they could get a closer look at homes under construction at its new Bryn Celyn development on the edge of the village of Llanharry.
The children were shown round by Lovell site manager Chris King and community liaison officer Bernadette Vickery.
As well as seeing a crane, forklift, digger and cement mixer in action, they talked to some of the team working on site about their jobs. "They were with us for an hour and had a look at a number of houses in different stages of construction," said Bernadette Vickery of Lovell. "The children were fascinated by everything and came up with a constant stream of questions. We thoroughly enjoyed having them here. Being part of the community and getting involved with local schools in the areas where we work like this is very important to us." The visit follows a special safety day organised at Llanhari Primary by the Lovell team.
Lovell currently has a selection of new three- and four-bedroom homes available at Bryn Celyn, with three-bedroom properties starting from £162,995 for the Raglan house style or £168,995 for the Penrhos house type. The development benefits from a superb location on the fringes of the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan and would be perfect for anyone commuting to Cardiff. Nearby is the attractive village of Bryn Sadler and lively Pontyclun which has a wealth of shops, restaurants and pubs. The picturesque walled town of Cowbridge is just six miles away.
