Kier Partnership Homes has received the award for National Best Site in the Medium Builder category at the National House Building Council (NHBC) Health & Safety Awards for the second consecutive year.
The NHBC Health and Safety Awards are the UK's only health & safety awards scheme exclusively for home builders. Primarily designed to recognise and reward the very best in health & safety, they are also helping to drive up safety standards in the industry by showcasing and sharing best practice.
Kier's winning site, Owens Croft in Birmingham, is being developed through the Birmingham Municipal Housing Trust framework. Overseen by Kier Partnership Homes site manager Andy Chisholme, it features 23 affordable homes with a further 26 homes for open market sale.
To achieve National Best Site, Andy and the Kier site team passed a rigorous judging process, starting with multiple site inspections by the NHBC health & safety advisors, with all sites being scored against a list of pre-set criteria. The 50 top scoring sites are awarded Commended status, of which 10 are then Highly Commended following a further round of visits.
All Highly Commended sites are then reviewed and judged by the independent judging panel to select three Regional winners in each category and, from these, the ultimate National winners are chosen.
Andy commented: "I am overwhelmed to have won these accolades for my site. For Kier to have won the National Best Site award for the second year running is a real coup. My site demonstrates the typical health & safety ethos of Kier Partnership Homes, which is integral to everything we do."
