Working on behalf of Northamptonshire County Council, Northamptonshire Highways, a joint venture between May Gurney, now Kier, and WSP, continues to make good progress on the £34m A43 Corby Link Road which, when complete, will considerably enhance Northamptonshire's strategic infrastructure.
The Corby Link Road will be pivotal to economic development in the north of the county. It will ensure that planned growth already taking place in Corby and Kettering is supported with excellent transport corridors that link through to the national networks.
The road is an all-new 6.5km dual carriageway, linking Corby and the A14, which will allow traffic to be taken away from villages along the A43 and Corby itself.
Currently, a roundabout is being constructed on the A6003, which will mark the starting point of the new dual carriageway.
Councillor Andre Gonzalez De Savage, Northamptonshire County Council, said: "Nobody can have failed to see the progress of the new road, especially the new roundabout at Barford Bridge taking shape.
"This next phase of the traffic management on the A6003 will allow the completion of the roundabout and I urge all road users to be patient and especially careful when the new contra-flow arrangements are put in place.
"This is a vital piece of work on a very busy road, and we need everyone to continue to play their part in keeping drivers and the workers safe."
