Cruden Construction is to begin two new contracts in Old Trafford and Macclesfield.
Firstly, Cruden will undertake design and construction of 36 one and two bedroom apartments on Stretford Road in Old Trafford under a £2.9m (approx) contract for Trafford Housing Trust and follows on from the successful completion of 62 flats and houses at Essex Way, Old Trafford.
This scheme is the next phase of the Old Trafford Master Plan, a partnership between Trafford Housing Trust, Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council and the Homes and Communities Agency to develop the Old Trafford Master Plan which aims to "create a vibrant, sustainable community, with quality housing, excellent environment, and good connections to employment opportunities together with improved retail and community facilities."
The Cruden site team that has successfully delivered the Essex Way scheme will transfer on to this project ensuring continuity for the client, continued engagement with the local community and maintaining the close working relationships with PRP Architects, SDA Consulting and Sutcliffe Projects Consulting Engineers.
Secondly, in Macclesfield, Cruden Construction will commence a £1.4m (approx) design and construct contract for new client, Peaks & Plains Housing Trust that will see 12 new affordable homes created on the site of the former Winlowe Court sheltered accommodation development.
On this important local project, Cruden Construction will work with OMI Architects, Poole Dick Associates and Atkinson Peck Consulting Engineers.
Cruden Construction Managing Director Ian Woolrich said: "We are very pleased to have secured these new contracts through the JV North and ICNW Registered Provider Contractor Frameworks. In both instances we are providing fantastic value. It's really satisfying that Trafford Housing Trust has reselected Cruden for the Stretford Road project and just as importantly, Peaks and Plains Housing Trust, a new client entrusting a first development to us at Winlowe Court."
