Work will take place on a number of roads in Boston starting on Tuesday 27 May and finishing Friday 4 July.
Lincolnshire County Council will be making improvements to John Adams Way (A16), Main Ridge East, Vauxhall Road, Freiston Road, and Eastwood Road.
The project will be carried out in different phases to minimise disruption as much as possible.
In the next few weeks, the council will be replacing the traffic light signals on the Main Ridge junction of John Adams Way (A16). For a short period while the work is being completed, one lane will need to be closed going westbound. Vehicles will not be able to turn into Main Ridge East at any time. The pedestrian crossings at this junction will also be closed.
Main Ridge East and Vauxhall Road have reached the end of their working life and require a full reconstruction and resurfacing. This is the largest and most disruptive element of this project, and the road will be closed for up to six weeks, although it will be fully reinstated during the weekend of the Boston Marathon (22 June).
Work will also take place on a section of Freiston Road between the junction with Church Road and Lindis Road. Lincolnshire County Council will be carrying out pothole patching in this area, and National Grid will be carrying out maintenance of a gas main at the same time.
The two jobs have been coupled together in order to reduce disruption to the local community. The road will be closed during this time, and diversions will be in place via Church Street/Freiston Road/John Adams Way (A16), and also via Woodthorpe Avenue/Lindis Road/John Adams Way (A16).
Pothole repairs and surface dressing will take place on Eastwood Road for a short period towards the end of the works. This will only require a road closure for a few days, and during this time diversions will be in place via Rochford Tower Lane/Wainfleet Road (A52)/John Adams way (A16).
