OCS Helps Keep London Borough Of Barnet Safe

OCS, the international total facilities services provider, has been awarded a security services contract to install and monitor a wireless CCTV system by the London Borough of Barnet.

The contract, which began in April, involves an upgrade of the entire town's centre CCTV network through the innovative integration of latest technologies. CCTV images will be sent wirelessly to a new control centre, co-located with Enfield Council, and new equipment will allow for automatic number plate recognition (ANPR) on routes across the borough.


The investment in equipment by Barnet is set to deliver cost savings of around £750k over the next five years. Cllr David Longstaff, Barnet Council Cabinet Member for Community Safety, said: "This is a step change in our CCTV service with a far higher quality of equipment than we have had before. The state-of-the-art equipment to be installed will assist the police in detecting crime and will provide much higher quality evidence to secure convictions."
