Resurfacing Work To Take Place On A19 Carriageway

Highways England has announced resurfacing works are scheduled to take place on the A19 carriageway in Sunderland.

Work will begin on 23 August and will take place for five days between 8pm and 6am.

The road will be closed between the A183 Chester Road interchange and the A1231 Hylton Grange interchange.

Highways England Project Manager, Kyle Maylard, said: "We are carrying out this vital resurfacing work overnight to minimise the disruption for drivers."

Diversions will be in place via the A183, A182 and A1231 to rejoin the A19 at the Hylton Grange Interchange.
