Designs Unveiled For 'Sky Pool' Project

Construction News Image
Eco World Ballymore has revealed plans for a 35 metre high suspended swimming pool in London.

The suspended swimming pool, named 'Sky Pool', will be developed at Embassy Gardens in Nine Elms on South Bank.

The 'Sky Pool' will link two residential buildings at the 10th storey, allowing residents to swim from one building to the next.

The pool is entirely transparent and structure free, 25 metres long, five metres wide and three metres deep with a water depth of 1.2 metres.

The development has been designed by Arup Associates, with specialist input from Eckersley O'Callaghan and aquarium designers Reynolds, the pool's glass will be 20cm thick.

The project has been driven by the vision of Sean Mulryan, Chairman and CEO of Ballymore Group.

Both Ballymore and Eco World are developing the second phase of Embassy Gardens as Eco World Ballymore.

The buildings that the pool link are part of this second phase, which will be released to market in September, soon after the first residents have started to move in following the completion of phase one.

The development will see the creation of nearly 2,000 new homes, landscaped gardens and a riverfront walkway threading from Embassy Gardens to Battersea Park.

Other features include new bars/restaurants and al fresco along with community spaces.
