Geodesign Barriers To Attend Flood And Coast 2016

Construction News Image
Geodesign Barriers has announced it will be at Stand C3 of the Environment Agency's-led 'Flood and Coast 2016' conference in Telford.

The company's temporary flood barriers have yet again been deployed in many towns and villages around the UK, providing effective flood protection for residents and businesses.

In December 2015, the usual length of Geodesign Barriers was deployed in Ironbridge. Since 2004, the 550m of barrier has meant businesses along the Wharfage have been able to keep dry and open, every time the river Severn rises and becomes threatening.

Alex Nicoll, owner of the White Hart Inn in Ironbridge said: "We would not have bought the White Hart if it had not been for the security of the flood barrier. The site would not be viable without the protection it offers."

The Geodesign Barrier was also deployed at Wribbenhall in Bewdley along the Severn and at several locations in the north of England, during the devastating storms during Christmas and the New Year. Another barrier was deployed in Arundel in West Sussex.

At the Flood and Coast 2016 conference, Geodesign Barriers will be showcasing the latest addition to its product range, the EUR101 Steel Barrier.

The low-priced, light and quick barrier has been designed to meet the demands of a large-scale emergency flood response and is incredibly quick and easy to deploy.

As all the other Geodesign Barriers, the EUR101 Steel Barrier is self- anchoring and can be moved around to wherever it is needed, whenever it is needed.

Clever crating makes the logistics easy and due to its low weight, the deployment of the EUR101 becomes very straightforward.

Geodesign Barriers will be located at stand C3 during the Flood and Coast 2016 conference on 23-25 February.
