Jacobs Engineering Group has been selected to provide engineering services on the £1 billion Manchester Airport Transformation Program.
The ten-year project by Manchester Airports Group (MAG) involves the phased delivery of 60 enhancements, as well as significant airside and landside development.
The expansion will increase the airports capacity and allows for optimum use of its two existing parallel runways.
Jacobs will provide multidisciplinary engineering and selected architectural services for new facilities, including terminal, piers, airfield, multi-level car parks and surface access facilities.
MAG Chief Executive, Charlie Cornish, said: "At Manchester, we have invested heavily in meeting the needs of our airlines, passengers and local communities, and we recognize now is the right time to deliver a transformation program that will meet the needs of all our customers and drive further economic growth for both the region and the country.
"We are delighted to have Jacobs on board and look forward to working with its team to fulfill this ambitious project over the coming years."
Jacobs' Senior Vice President of Buildings and Infrastructure, Bob Duff, added: "We are delighted to continue our relationship with M.A.G and support Manchester Airport with this major program to transform passenger experience, advance connectivity in the north of the UK and create an exceptional world-class airport."
