Morgan Sindall To Deliver £1.4m Expansion At Bury School

Morgan Sindall has been chosen to deliver a £1.4 million expansion project at a school in Bury.

The firm will built an extension to the King Edward VI School in Bury St Edmunds as part of the £500 million Suffolk County Council construction framework.

Work is already underway on the scheme, which includes doubling the schools media centre size.

Other features involve changes to the single-storey structure such as a curved profile roof and upgrades to the schools administration building and conference centre.

The project team will install new steel work in the administration area and remove an internal wall to maximise floor space, while the conference centre will also undergo major internal refurbishments including the addition of a new kitchen.

All three of the schools buildings will receive M&E upgrades, while hard and soft external landscaping will be introduced along with the creation of a new bicycle shelters for students.

As part of the project, Morgan Sindall will offer several work placements to students at the school.
