Wates Wins £33m Contract

Wates has won a £33 million contract to build a new a new office block in Bristol.

The contractor will develop 15,000 sq ft of new office space for Salmon Harvester at Bristol's Temple Quarter Enterprise Zone.

The seven-storey '3 Glass Wharf' scheme includes speculative retail space to the ground floor and basement car parking. Works will be carried out over a 100 week period.

Previously, Wates delivered the neighbouring '2 Glass Wharf' office development, which was handed over to Salmon Harvester in 2016.

In addition, the company has been selected carry out a refurbishment of Dyson's head office in Malmesbury.

The 13,700 sq m development will feature raised floors and mezzanine levels to optimise floor space as well as meeting rooms, new research and development labs and workshops. Build work is scheduled to begin in March.

The new projects build on Wates' work across the South West and Southern Home Counties, bringing the contractor's regional order book to a combined value of over £150m.

Wates' current work in the region includes the new £28m Farnborough International Exhibition and Conference Centre and the new Julia's House Children's Hospice in Wiltshire.
