The contractor will build the new Mercia School on the Bannerdale site and the new building is scheduled to open to Year Seven pupils by September 2018.
Designed by Bond Bryan architects, BAM's design arm will also work on the scheme which includes general hard and soft landscaping, fencing, retaining walls, planting and provision of a multi-use games area. Two new pitches designed to Sport England standards will also be installed, while works will be carried out to the existing car park and construction of a sustainable urban drainage system.

A spokesman for Sheffield City Council said: "Detailed investigations of this site have taken place, and we know that it is a suitable and safe place to build an excellent new school to serve the south west of Sheffield."
