Skanska has appointed Katy Dowding as its new Executive Vice President.
Having joined the company in 2003, Ms Dowding has for the past five years worked as Managing Director of Skanska's Facilities Management business.
Before this, she worked with Tarmac/Carillion for 15 years and has built up a wealth of experience over the course of her career, having worked within operational, business improvement and commercial disciplines.
Ms Dowding is taking over from Gregor Craig, who was recently appointed as Skanska UK's President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Mr Craig said: "I am delighted to make this appointment. Katy enhances the breadth and depth of the executive management team even further, bringing to it her extensive experience of the industry and senior management."
The news comes as the company makes a number of other senior level appointments, which will take effect on 01 June.
Adam McDonald succeeds Dowding as Managing Director of Skanska's Facilities Management business, while Terry Elphick takes on a new role as Managing Director for Skanska's work at Battersea Power Station.
Cameron Foley succeeds Elphick as Managing Director of Skanska's building operations outside London, while currently technical director for Cementation Skanska, Jon Morris, has been appointed as the division's Managing Director on an interim basis while a permanent successor is found.
Mr Craig added: "Once again we have been able to make these important senior appointments from within Skanska and show the remarkable strength in depth we have in the company.
"It is a clear demonstration of our robust succession planning and our firm commitment to developing our people, providing excellent opportunities for personal growth across the business."
