Plans have been submitted for a £24 million student development in Swansea.
The Kingsway scheme will be built in the north-west of the city centre.
Designed by Day Architectural, the six-storey 311-bed scheme would rise to 11-storeys in one corner of the property featuring 28 self-contained studio apartments and 283 en-suite cluster flats of between five and nine bedrooms.
In addition, a private landscaped courtyard and dedicated communal areas will be built, while the ground floor will include bicycle storage, the reception and management area for resident students, as well as a retail unit fronting onto The Kingsway.
Lisa Timberlake, Development Manager at Crosslane Student Developments, said: "Crosslane is pleased to have submitted its planning application for a new student accommodation development on The Kingsway, Swansea. The proposed city centre scheme is close to the main shopping area and the city’s mainline train station, within very easy reach of both The University of Wales Trinity Saint David and the University of Swansea.
"At 311 beds, the scheme will have a significant impact in easing the supply/demand fundamentals for purpose-built student accommodation in the city, as the city’s two universities continue to invest heavily in their expansion."
Following relevant approvals, completion is scheduled in time for the 2019/2020 academic year.
