Keepmoat Regeneration has started the next phase of a £27 million retirement housing development in Warwick.
The Inspired Warwick scheme, which provides a mix of 106 luxury apartments for people over the age of 65, is being delivered on Gallagher Way in Heathcote.
Phase two of the project involves the construction of village central facilities such as a wellness spa with a gym, hydro pool, steam room and sauna, restaurant, library and deli. The project is due to be completed in 2018.
To mark the start of phase two, a ground-breaking ceremony was held with the Mayor of Warwick, Christine Cross, and Deputy Mayor Councillor Stephen Cross, alongside representatives from Keepmoat Regeneration on Tuesday, 16 May.
Dave Mellor, Regional Director at Keepmoat Regeneration, said: "We're very excited to begin construction on this next phase of Inspired Warwick in creating a thriving retirement community with our partner, Inspired Villages.
"At Keepmoat Regeneration, we are committed to delivering high quality homes that adapt to the changing needs of residents as they grow older. This scheme enables them to enjoy independent lives while making the most of the luxurious facilities that the village has to offer."
Jamie Bunce, Managing Director of Inspired Villages, said: "We are very pleased to commence phase two at Inspired Warwick with Keepmoat Regeneration as our construction partner. This phase of the build will create the village centre with a bistro, restaurant, hairdressers, craft rooms and wellness spa for our residents and the wider elderly population of Warwick."
