Arcadis has signed a joint venture (JV) deal with Powys County Council to lead the development of the council's estate and maximise its value and usage to support the delivery of front line services.
The 10-year Powys Real Estate Partnership (PREP) will see Arcadis deliver a range of estates-related services and pre-development activities.
Features include involvement across multiple sites around the county, with a variety of existing and potential uses, including identifying a range of development opportunities, offering strategic advice, and helping to create supply chains for delivery for specific projects.
Cllr Phyl Davies said: "We are very excited to be entering into a partnership with Arcadis, who have a wealth of property expertise. We want to ensure that we create the best value from the assets that we have to help deliver our services and provide regenerative outcomes for the citizens of Powys.
"Having a commercial partner will hopefully unlock more opportunities for the council and provide us with the ability to manage larger strategic reviews of our estate. A project supported by Welsh Government, this partnership demonstrates the innovative way in which Powys County Council is tackling the increasing pressures facing all councils."
