Plans have been approved to build 145 new homes between Bradford and Shipley.
The new housing will be delivered by Keepmoat Homes as part of the £150 million 'New Bolton Woods' regeneration, which has outline planning granted for a further 1,000 homes. Work is due to start on site in early 2018.
The scheme will deliver much needed housing to the area of north Bradford, as well as associated new businesses, retail, leisure and community facilities. It is being delivered by Keepmoat and Canal Road Urban Village Ltd (CRUVL), which consists of Urbo Regeneration Limited, City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council and Arnold Laver Ltd.
Ian Hoad, Managing Director of Keepmoat, said: "New Bolton Woods is an exciting, and high priority regeneration project, and is set to genuinely bring a new lease of life to an area that has previously been overlooked. Our work will also forge the way for further regeneration in the area. We look forward to continuing to work with CRUVL to ensure the development creates a vibrant new community, which will hopefully leave a positive and long-lasting legacy."
Peter Swallow, a director of CRUVL, said: "We are delighted to be working with major house-builder Keepmoat on the next phase of housing at New Bolton Woods. The hard work carried out by the Keepmoat team working closely with CRUVL has resulted in detailed planning consent being granted for the latest phase of housing.
"CRUVL looks forward to working with Keepmoat to deliver these much needed new homes, to address the acknowledged shortage of suitable housing in the Bolton Woods and wider Bradford area. CRUVL has already completed and sold 50 new houses and hopes to start work on the new local centre food store next year."
