Plans have been approved for 140 new homes to be built in Skipton, Leeds.
Outline planning permission has been secured for the development on fields off Harrogate Road, stretching down to Otley Road, which will include 30% 'affordable' housing as well as cycle/pedestrian links and public open space.
Pegasus Group, on behalf of a private landowner, liaised closely with planning officers to deliver a scheme that was sensitive in design and set out the economic, social and environmental benefits to the local community.
Executive Director of the consultancy's Leeds office, Chris Calvert, said: "We have been working on this site since early 2016, when the local council were looking at a Pool of Sites for their Emerging Local Plan.
"We drew up a landscape led masterplan and submitted it, along with a Promotional Document and Planning Representation in response to the Council's consultation, acknowledging that a sensitive design would be key, given the site's edge of settlement location.
"The site was then included as a Draft Residential Allocation on the back of our representation, so we advised our client that the time was right to submit an Outline Application. We managed this process on their behalf, and provided Planning, Heritage, Economic, Landscape, Design and Consultation services."
Mr Calvert confirmed work is now underway to bring the site to market, having already attracted a significant level of interest from housebuilders.
Toby Cockcroft, owner of Croft Residential, said: "We are delighted to be involved in this project and very much looking forward to bringing this excellent site to market in the forthcoming weeks."
