Mace Appoints First Ever Chief Technical Officer

Mace has appointed Stephen Jeffery to the newly-created role of Chief Technical Officer (CTO).

As the first ever CTO, Mr Jeffery will oversee a single technical team that will work across Mace's development, consultancy, construction and operations divisions.

Bringing together a wide range of technical expertise from across the company, including specialists in engineering, design, BIM, digital and a number of other disciplines, the team will be responsible for;

• BIM and digital

• Managing the design process

• Modern methods of construction

• Productivity measurement and improvement

• Improving Mace's supply chain

• Quality and service excellence

Having worked at Mace for nearly 22 years, Mr Jeffery has helped to deliver a number of iconic projects including the The Shard and More London. He will continue to lead s MEP division and serve as the Group's Technical Services Director alongside his new responsibilities as CTO.

Speaking on his new role, Mr Jeffery said: "I am delighted to take up the challenge of this new role. With construction changing rapidly and new technology and processes being created so quickly, driving and improving technical solutions will continue to be a vital part of Mace's pursuit of a better way."

Mark Reynolds, Mace's Chief Executive, said: "I have known Stephen from the very start of his career with Mace in 1996. Over that time we have worked closely together to deliver some fantastic outcomes for our clients and continually pursued a better way of doing things.
