Highways England has reappointed Mott MacDonald to its Change Advisory Board (CAB) and websites for technical specifications.

For the past four years, the consultancy has been working in this area for Highways England. The new CAB contract is due to be finish in 2020, with the potential to extend service provision for two six month increments at the end of the first year.

The CAB is the essential forum that safeguards the technical evolution of Highways Agency Traffic Management Systems and is relied on by Highways England to control its day-to-day traffic operations.

John Turner, Mott MacDonald's project director, said: "We will build on our existing CAB knowledge and combine it with our experience of other key Highways England commissions via our strategic project interfaces.

"By doing this we'll be able to identify and introduce efficiencies into the management and operation of the board, offering benefits which will be seen in the development, management and control of key Highways England specifications governing the operation of instation and outstation technology.

"We are committed to improving health and safety at all opportunities throughout this project, specifically on the strategic road network and for road users, maintainers and operators. This includes achieving Highways England's zero roadside visits objective, by leveraging the knowledge of key technical specialists on the CAB and associated community."
