Morgan Sindall has delivered two leisure centre schemes worth over £12 million in Slough, Berkshire.
The £6.5m Langley Leisure Centre and the £5.7m Salt Hill Activity Centre projects are the latest transformative municipal projects developed by Slough Urban Renewal (SUR), a joint venture between Morgan Sindall Investments Limited and Slough Borough Council.
Features of Langley Leisure Centre include extending outdated facilities with upgrades to the swimming pools and reception area as well as a new fitness suite, new exercise and spinning studios plus a café and vending area in the new reception area.
Elsewhere, the former ten pin bowling facility situated in Salt Hill Park has been transformed into a multi-functional family activity hub with a new six-lane ten pin bowling alley with its own bar, and new leisure zones featuring a high rope course, trampoline park, caving area, soft play and party rooms. In addition, a new car park has been installed at the site, providing an extra 48 spaces for visitors.
James York, Morgan Sindall's area director in Slough, said: "The provision of high-quality sports and leisure facilities is an essential part of ensuring that local people can exercise regularly and improve their health and wellbeing.
"Our unique public-private partnership with Slough Borough Council continues to deliver outstanding projects for the community at a rate that is unprecedented across the UK and we look forward to continuing this work."
