Who says ventilation ducting can't be fun? Adding LED lighting to fabric ducts creates a unique lighting concept that intrigues the visitors.
Micro-perforated fabric ducting is an ideal solution when it comes to comfort in spaces with low to medium ceiling heights. The draft-free, low velocity air dispersion created through MicroFlow™ enables a high air change, resulting in a pleasant indoor environment and great indoor air quality. But why not add a little bling to the solution?
To create a truly unique indoor atmosphere, LED lighting can be added to the air dispersion solution, either as a pleasant soft light or as an experience of changing colors. Creating a lighting setup that changes as needed or desired can add a little pizazz to any room.
Adding LED strips to the ventilation solution is brilliantly simply. It only requires white, micro-perforated fabric ducts. The ducts are tailored to the specific project and simply slide in place once the suspension has been installed. It is a "plug 'n' play" solution.
Condensation is not an issue when using FabricAir dispersion technology; Smart Air Solutions tailored in permeable fabrics enable an air blanket surrounding the ductwork, which averts the formation of condensation and also prevents dirt and other particles from settling onto the duct. When using micro-perforated ducting the intervals between maintenance are so long that it becomes virtually maintenance-free, as long as the pre-filter is changed as prescribed.
The first commercial LED lighting in a Smart Air Solution was installed in 2012 in a modern sports club in Bursa, Turkey. It came to the team as a fun idea and it quickly turned into reality when they realized how easily it could be done.
The Maya Sport Center was established by the famous local basketball star, Murat Konuk. He wanted to create an athletic club that would allow friends and families to come together and enjoy sports. His vision was to create the most modern fitness center in Turkey. He wanted a comfortable and stylish indoor environment and turned to FabricAir to get the best possible air dispersion solution, as draft-free air dispersion is key to the comfort of the space being conditioned.
Using D-shaped fabric ducts with build in LED lighting the team created a pleasant and unique atmosphere. The air dispersion technology differs from conventional metal solutions in that it enables a high air change at low velocity, which means a high degree of comfort. It is also a space saving solution, as the ductwork does not need to be insulated due to the permeable surfaces that prevent the moisture in the air from condensing.
"I've had a dream since my childhood to gather people who want to enjoy sports in a comfortable and modern place. The Maya Sport Center is a result of this dream," explained Murat Konuk, Owner of Maya Sport Center. "The comfort level was crucial and I know this is directly linked to the air distribution system. This is why we decided to use FabricAir due to the slow airflow models and even air distribution. It was exactly what we wanted from the system."
